My research project deals with endophytes in medicinal and agronomical plants. Endophytes are microorganisms colonizing inner plant tissues without apparent symptoms on their host plants. Those microorganisms are involved directly or indirectly in the production of various compounds that help plants to adapt to stressful life conditions. My study aims to elucidate the relationship between endophytes and plants at phytochemical level, and to find interesting compounds for human health and food production with utilizing those relationships.
