Integrated assessment
Historical leader in the development of agri-environmental indicators of cropping systems, the LAE is developing methods (i) for multi-criteria assessment of cropping, grassland and viticulture systems and (ii) for integrated assessment and modelling of agricultural territories (landscape) represented as socio-agro-ecological systems. A first objective is to develop a generic conceptual framework for the multicriteria and multilevel assessment of agricultural systems considering ecosystem services, biodiversity (e.g. heritage), negative impacts on the environment of agricultural activities, socio-economic performance and local (e.g. water resources, food and / or energy sovereignty) and global (e.g. food security) issues. A second objective is to develop operational indicators and methods to perform such an integrated assessment like INDIGO® and e-Florasys® at the plot level and the MAELIA® platform at the territory level. A third objective is to apply these methods to produce original knowledge on performances of a variety of production situations and agricultural territories.
