Body

The expertise of LAE members is recognized in:
• Microbial and dynamic functioning of the soil nutriments (intrinsic soil fertility)
• Permanent grassland (management, multifunctionality, landscape factor, etc.)
• Functional approaches (including networks) on different taxa (diversity of organisms)
• Specification and assessment of ecosystem services
• Taxonomic inventories of macro-invertebrates
• In situ and in silico assessment of impacts, services and sustainability
• Integrated modeling (multi-variable and multi-level) of agricultural systems and territories
• Data mining

In terms of evaluation of agricultural systems, the LAE develops and applies:
- The INDIGO® method which provides a set of operational agri-environmental indicators for assessment of cropping, viticulture and arboriculture systems.
- e-Florasys® , a free web application for ecologists and agronomists who are interested in permanent grasslands. It enables to (i) provide knowledge on the ecological and agronomic characteristics of grassland species, (ii) to enter, consult and edit floristic surveys, and (iii) to estimate indices for an agronomic and ecological analysis of these surveys.
- MAELIA® , an integrated assessment and modeling (IAM) platform of agricultural territories (local to regional landscapes). Based on the coupling of a high spatial resolution GIS and a multi-agent system with a daily time step, it allows to finely represent and simulate the dynamics and interactions between agricultural systems, agro-chains and ecosystems within a territory.
