To meet various and varied environmental conditions, higher plants have developed a specialized metabolism. The studies carried out at LAE aim to better understand these mechanisms and the phenomena that led to their appearance. For this, researchers from the Agronomy and Environment Laboratory characterize the genes that are involved in the synthesis of molecules.
These characterized genes provide a better understanding of the molecular establishment of plant defenses. They also make it possible to envisage the production of molecules in heterologous systems by metabolic engineering approaches.
